An experienced musician with a passion for good teaching

Im 47 years old and married and live in Lisburn. My main hobby is spending too much money on guitars I don't need! I spend my working week teaching guitar in schools and at home.

I've been playing guitar since I was 13 and from the age of 16 was playing in pub rock bands. In my late 20's I became a Christian and now spend half my week as a guitar tutor and the other half as a Curate. The fancy word is bi-vocational :-)
 
I love teaching in schools and get a massive thrill from sharing the stage with crowds of young guitarist showing their skills. I love it when the guitar students steal the show at school performances.

My musical taste is very varied- I listen to everything from the hardest metal to light jazz and contemporary worship. As a tutor I believe that the most important thing is that the student enjoys their time with me and develops as a person. 

In particular I love to see young people learning that discipline and determination will always pay off! There is a great sense of achievement to be gained from finally getting that song or solo just right.
