My name is Peter Blake and I have been a guitar tutor for over almost 20 years. Although I have tutored many students up to Teaching and Performance Diploma level, l I specialise in providing fun group lessons for school age children. During the lockdown I had continued lessons online and found them very effective. Even so, I am delighted to be getting back to face to face for his academic year.

How do I sign my child up for lessons?

Click on REGISTER in the menu.

How do school lessons work?

Generally, guitar lessons work best for children year 4 and up.

The children will learn in a group from their class/year within the school building.

Do the kids do graded exams?

Yes, the kids will be doing a graded exam each year. I usually arrange for an examiner to come to your school or one nearby. I attend the exams to offer a Haribo and some encouragement along with tuning the guitars. I like to think that this is a positive experience for the kids and I am very proud of the high standard that my students achieve.

How often will my child get a lesson?

School lessons are once per week during school term.

What time are the lessons?

This is dependant on the school timetable but generally they will get out of class for the half hour lesson once a week. 

How much are lessons?

Lessons are between either £7.50 or £8.50  per week (paid termly in advance)  including exam preparation and coaching for any school events which might occur at the end of the school year circumstances allowing.


Do I have to pay for lessons during holidays/illness?

The lessons do not run during normal school holidays. Lesson fees during school terms are non-refundable.

What happens if we have an end of year school performance?

I will be available to come into schools (numbers permitting) and prepare the children for any events that occur in school at the end of the year. Let's hope that is possible!
